CTRD New Skater Bootcamp Spring 2026

Whether you've been preparing for roller derby since you first saw it on TV years ago, or if you're looking for a fun summer hobby, now's the time! Join us for our summer bootcamp!

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Hosted by the active skaters of CTRD. this bootcamp is an on-skates program providing attentive training to prepare attendees to join our league or just have fun! You will learn the basic skills of roller derby that will be assessed during the tryouts.

This program runs Thursday nights 7-9 PM, April 16-May 21 with tryouts being held on Thursday, May 28. All sessions take place at Roller Magic in Waterbury.

Cost is $120 for 6 weeks. Skates and full safety gear are required to participate and available to rent, must denote in ticket type. Mouthguards are NOT included in gear rental- must be purchased in advance and pre-molded prior to sessions. All attendees must be pre-registered via Eventbrite- no on the spot enrollments or cash, sorry!

Bootcamp Dates:

April 16, 23, 30

May 7, 14, 21

Tryouts: May 28

Dates and times are all subject to slight change per priority of Roller Magic, which will be communicated via email.

Please be prepared to bring the following:

MOUTHGUARD (pre-molded)

Skates

Helmet

Elbow Pads

Knee pads

Wrist guards
